Dear Colleagues and Friends,

It is our great pleasure to invite you to participate in the 9th Young Researchers' BNCT Meeting, which will be held in Uji, Japan from November 13 to 15, 2017.

Young Researchers' BNCT Meeting has been held almost every two years, since the first meeting was held in Petten, Netherlands in 1999. It has been decided that the ninth meeting is going to be organized by Kyoto University Research Reactor Institute (KURRI) with the all-Japan cooperation.

This meeting is primarily targeting "Young" researchers, who are engaged in various types of research related to BNCT. Therefore, we hope to see as many "Young" researchers utilize this meeting, as a place to present your research results comfortably, as a place to carry out in-depth discussions frankly, and as a place to strengthen the international exchange delightfully.

We have selected Uji, which is one of the campuses of Kyoto University, as the meeting venue. Uji is a historical city located south of Kyoto, and it is 30-minutes away from the center of Kyoto via train. Uji has many sight-seeing spots, such as one of the World Heritage Sites, "Byodoin Temple". Also, it is famous for one of the brands of Japanese tea, "Uji-Cha". Above all, November is the most beautiful season for the autumn leaves. We hope you enjoy the sight-seeing together with drinking Uji-cha, in the interval of the meeting.

Since this meeting is held in Japan, who are leading the development of accelerator-based BNCT systems, we are also planning a tour visiting several BNCT facilities before and after the meeting. These facilities are located at various places of Japan, such as KURRI in the south part of Osaka, Tsukuba University in the north part of Ibaraki, National Cancer Center Japan in Tokyo, and Southern Tohoku General Hospital in the central part of Fukushima. However, we anticipate that the tour schedule will be a little tight and hope the "Young" researchers with ample energy will take this amazing opportunity to attend the facility tours.

We hope that many "Young" BNCT researchers will participate and this meeting will be a fruitful one. We are looking forward to meeting you in autumnal Uji.
